Here we are almost at the end of the year! As I won't be doing a post next week - I'm taking as much time as possible off over the holidays - I thought I'd use today as a chance to reflect on the year gone, and also to celebrate some of the achievements that have been possible.
First off, of course, I can mention the books that have been released this year. We kicked things off with Blood Sucker in March. Then it was Blood Sport in June, followed by Blood Diamond in October and the Christmas surprise of Blood on Poinsettia in November.
The books got a new lease of attention when I undertook a blog tour to celebrate finishing the first arc of five books, culminating in Blood Sport. We gathered a load of fantastic reviews from lots of different reviewers, and it was fabulous to see the Serial Investigations series sitting alongside other releases that I've enjoyed!
There have been two really big achievements this year, both of which I'm so proud of. The first was Boy Under Water hitting the bestseller spot on Amazon and staying there for a couple of weeks. Opening it up to see that 'best seller' tag on the page was amazing, and I've since released a new version of the ebook cover with a sticker commemorating this success.
The second big achievement was being offered (and accepting) a traditional publishing deal for Mira's War, the first Young Adult title I'll have published. That's still to come in the first part of next year, so it's something to look forward to (more on that in an upcoming blog post).
Of course, none of this would be possible wihtout you, my readers. So, I'd like to say a big heartfelt thank you to all of you, especially those who review or recommend the book to friends and family. I appreciate every single one of you, every page read, every visit here. Happy holidays, and I hope to see you all in 2021!
